Episode Overview
With a severe heat wave sweeping through Philadelphia, Andy and the team must familiarize themselves with the emergency protocols to handle the extreme temperatures. Meanwhile, Claire, a patient of Dr. Campbell, receives the devastating news that she is likely to develop Alzheimer's within the next decade, prompting her desire to have a child. Andy discusses Dr. Morton with Claire's children, who wonder why she struggles to find time for them. Claire fears that her kids may carry the PGD gene, which could predispose them to early-onset Alzheimer's. Additionally, a young girl with Down's Syndrome confides in Lu about joining a gang after shooting someone. Later, her mother reveals that her daughter took the blame to shield her sister, who was the real culprit.
