Walt Deekins (Ed Begley Jr.) believes that generosity is the key to true happiness, so he decides to write a check to Laura for the school's reconstruction, though he adds some conditions. His wife Martha is not pleased with this decision and takes him to court, arguing that he's not mentally fit due to the influence of the moons. Meanwhile, Alex still has lingering feelings for Claire but embarrasses himself while trying to assist her with a work issue, jeopardizing their friendship. Additionally, Sarah Louise's son Jonah escapes from a "scared straight" program and forms a friendship with Lydia, though his intentions raise some concerns.
