Episode Overview
During the dedication ceremony for a new courthouse honoring heroes, 13-year-old Earl Sump, sporting glasses and a DIY superhero costume, apprehends two pickpockets from the crowd. His reward? A day with his heroes, the Defenders of the Earth. However, Earl’s enthusiasm quickly puts them in jeopardy—he nearly crashes their ship and, while stowing away on a mission to investigate odd happenings on a distant planet, accidentally causes Flash's vessel to run aground. Back on Monitor, he locks Jedda in a storage area and commandeers a ship to Ice Station Earth. In a twist of fate, he rewires the evil computer Octon, transforming him into a friendly ally, and returns to Monitor to throw a celebration for himself, inviting everyone from Central City. This angers Ming, who crashes the party. Just when it seems Ming will obliterate the city, the Defenders show up just in time to fend him off and save the day.
