Episode Overview

The Defenders travel to Transylvania to look into the mysterious vanishing of John Harker, a young archaeologist researching the region. Upon their arrival, they’re welcomed to the castle of the enigmatic Vlad, who serves them dinner at the stroke of midnight. During a toast, everyone participates except the Phantom, who is wary of their dubious host. The following day, all the Defenders, except for the Phantom, are transformed into animals that embody their personalities, thanks to Vlad's tainted dinner drinks. Dynak X sends an antidote via a guided rocket. Kshin, now a lively spider monkey, retrieves the antidote from the garden and, with the Phantom’s help, frees the captured Defenders and administers the cure. Once restored, they shine bright lights on Vlad, revealing him to be John Harker, who had been under the thrall of the vampire Vlad.
