Episode Overview

Ming deploys a replica of a Defender ship to bait the Beacon of the Eternals, a ship driven by a computer in search of a long-lost kind society. This trick triggers the release of three powerful Guardian Robots designed for retaliation against the heroes. After Flash manages to destroy one robot, its power is transferred to the remaining two, escalating the threat to both the Defenders and the planet. With one robot chasing them, L.J., Kshin, and Zuffy head to New York to gather Mandrake and Lothar, while Flash, Rick, and Jedda contain the third robot in a stasis field. In New York, Mandrake cleverly defeats the second robot using an illusion, but this was part of Ming's scheme. The last Guardian grows larger, siphoning energy from Monitor and becoming nearly invincible.
