Klaus discovers that Cortez, an ancient vampire with a grudge against him, has made his way to New Orleans, compelling Klaus to confront this looming danger. At the same time, as Cortez starts endangering the lives of innocent locals, Vincent reluctantly joins forces with him to execute his revenge on Klaus. Meanwhile, Marcel seeks Davina's assistance when several members of the Strix mysteriously disappear. Additionally, Elijah confronts Hayley after realizing she’s coping with Jackson’s death in a self-destructive manner.
