Clara Potts and Olivia champion the modernization, while Hetty stands firmly opposed. In a clever ploy, Sarah manages to convince her trust fund to purchase an Edison motion picture camera, pretending to be Hetty over the phone, believing it’s for Jasper Dale's experiments with frame rates for the Edison company. In the end, Hetty decides to utilize the footage Jasper captured to create a visual representation of Avonlea, hoping to sway opinions against the drastic changes planned for the town.
