Desperate to fix up their rundown house, Carolyn cleverly appeals to Claymore's ego by claiming a national magazine is interested in featuring Gull Cottage in a photo shoot, suggesting he tackle some repairs to enhance its appeal. The Captain finds her strategy entertaining and wagers her $5 that Claymore won’t take action. When it becomes clear that Claymore is indeed reluctant to make the needed fixes, the Captain devises an ingenious plan of his own to motivate him.
