Episode Overview

Nick's old buddy, Mariano Montoya, passes through town while transporting his cattle for sale, but disaster strikes when an outbreak of anthrax hits. As Mariano's cattle start to perish, it appears he may have to put them down, shattering his hopes for profit. Just when things look bleak, Eugene suggests trying immunization, though Mariano is skeptical. To prove its effectiveness, the Barkleys must first test it on their prized bull. The bull collapses, seemingly lifeless, but then miraculously rises, confirming the treatment works! Mariano's cattle are ultimately saved.
