Episode Overview

As the Barkleys get ready for a significant cattle drive, Heath struggles to earn the acceptance of the ranch hands, who still view him as an outsider. Complicating matters, Nick's old war commander arrives, raising Heath's suspicions. His instincts prove right when the man plots to stir up trouble and steal the herd. During the drive, Nick is shot and must be taken to town, forcing Heath to take the reins. Rising to the challenge, Heath successfully manages the drive, earning the respect of the ranch hands and finally solidifying his place as a true Barkley.
