To gather more information, Peter visits his former tutor and uncovers that Simon reached out for money just before his mysterious disappearance. Meanwhile, Gloria grapples with the anniversary of her husband’s death, and her son gets arrested for vandalizing windows around town. Lyle teams up with Snell to thwart the gas company’s plans to develop local grazing land. Beatrice seeks Lyle's help to rekindle her relationship with Alan, but when Peter learns that Alan has betrayed his sister again, he confronts him directly.
