Episode Overview
At 12:15 PM, Alaska State Troopers Sgt. Dan Hickman and 1st Sgt. Greg Close respond to a shooting incident after James fires at two individuals and their dogs. They land at a dirt strip where a motorcycle rider informs them that James has killed a dog and is hiding in his greenhouse. Upon finding him outside, they cuff him gently as per protocol. Dan notes the prevalence of shootings and suicides in the area, with typical sentences around five years. They confiscate a 12-gauge shotgun and illegal whiskey before transporting James back by plane. Later in Anchorage, at 4:30 PM, K-9 Training Officer Keith Corder suits up Officer Pam Nelson for dog training, with Officer Tom Katkus's dog tackling her.
