Episode Overview
Walker and Trivette are in pursuit of a group of robbers. While Walker chases down two of the thieves, Trivette targets their leader, Kroeger. Walker successfully apprehends one of the crooks, Floy. Meanwhile, Trivette tracks Kroeger into a dim area, where he sees him preparing to fire. In a tense moment, Trivette returns fire but finds himself in an awkward position. When he stands up, he realizes he accidentally shot a young boy. The doctors advise against surgery for the child at this time. Trivette faces a review board, where Lieutenant Moffett—who harbors resentment towards him for securing a Texas Ranger position—is leading the investigation. Moffett claims Trivette acted recklessly. Despite Walker's belief in his partner’s innocence, suggesting Kroeger used a silencer, Trivette is suspended and faces harsh media scrutiny. In his despair, he turns to alcohol for solace.
