Episode Overview
Robert Jackson, a tough government vetting officer, lands in Tazbekistan and treks the fifteen miles to assess the embassy staff. While attending a celebration for the president's platinum jubilee, a revolt erupts, spearheaded by Natalia's brother, Neil's girlfriend. Back in London, the P.O.D. pressures ambassadors to align with the winning side to maintain diplomatic relations. Keith misses his opportunity to delay the visa application for the president's daughter, Fergana, seeking to uncover her father's motives. Disturbed by the regime's harsh crackdown, Jennifer pushes Keith to negotiate with the rebels, but he is captured and later rescued by the British army. After the uprising fails, Neil coerces Jackson into submitting a favorable report for the embassy and securing Natalia's safe passage to England.
