Hooten enlists Lady Alex's assistance in locating the Sibylline Books, a set of ancient Roman prophecies that have been lost to time. The British Museum curator eagerly agrees, but soon finds herself climbing the walls of the Sistine Chapel, facing off against an alligator lurking in the sewers, and getting entangled with the Mafia.
