As the first season wraps up, Val returns from work to discover Holly and Henry behind a closed door in Holly's room, sparking Val's fears that they may have been intimate. Concerned, Val gives Holly a stern lecture about sex. However, the tables turn when Holly comes home from the movies and unexpectedly finds Val and Jeff enjoying a shower together, leaving Val in a hypocritical position. Meanwhile, Holly feels neglected as Gary continues to prioritize his new girlfriend over their time together.
