Mary is determined to hear Wilson express his love for her, but Wilson hesitates, believing that such a declaration is a significant commitment and they haven't spent enough time together yet. Meanwhile, Simon and Ruthie stumble upon Matt's romantic letters to Heather and are caught in the act. Matt cleverly misleads them by addressing one letter to "Mrs. Matt Camden." This accidental discovery reaches Eric, leading him to mistakenly believe that Matt and Heather tied the knot over the summer, causing concern for himself, Annie, and Mrs. Cain. Additionally, Eric steps in to help Lucy's friend, Laurie, strengthen her bond with her mother.
