Ginger visits the Camden family to share troubling news: her father is showing early signs of Alzheimer's Disease. Initially in disbelief, Annie realizes the severity of the situation when she notices him neglecting a barbecue fire in the backyard. Meanwhile, tensions arise between Mary and Eric over her relationship with Robbie, but they eventually find common ground. After Mary talks to Robbie about their compromise, he initially rejects it, but a conversation with Eric at the grocery store leads him to reconsider. Additionally, Lucy faces consequences for skipping a Habitat for Humanity project to date, while Matt is consumed by sadness over Shana's impending move to New York, leaving Simon feeling neglected. Ruthie, excited about millennial celebrations, receives a dose of reality from Eric.
