With Annie away, Eric takes Simon to a Board of Education meeting to talk about his early graduation. There, Simon connects with his advisor, discovering they share the experience of being preacher’s kids. Meanwhile, Lucy witnesses Chandler kissing an attractive blonde at church and struggles with whether to inform Roxanne. In another subplot, Detective Michaels dupes Kevin into babysitting his young granddaughter. Peter strikes a bargain with the school bully to safeguard Ruthie, and Cecilia’s decision to look after the twins leads to a clash with Simon.
