Brandon finds himself struggling with a C in American History due to the teacher's harsh grading curve, which awards C's to 80 percent of the class regardless of their actual performance. Meanwhile, Steve consistently aces every test by getting hold of the questions beforehand. Under pressure from Jim about his academic standing, Brandon resorts to cheating on a quiz, which infuriates Andrea, especially when her own grades start to suffer. When Steve offers him a copy of the midterm exam, Brandon confronts a moral crossroads. Meanwhile, Brenda attempts to dye her hair blonde to catch Dylan's eye but ends up with a disastrous result. Dylan flirts with her and takes her to a stylist to fix her look.
