Episode Overview
Brandon and Mark compete for the esteemed Dryer scholarship, with Mark trying to win Kelly over by giving Brandon some advice, convinced his wealth and connections make him the obvious choice. In the end, Brandon secures one of the two scholarships, leaving Mark empty-handed. Struggling to cope with his loss, Mark skips Brandon's celebration and confronts Kelly in the Peach Pit parking lot, demanding she stay away until she agrees to sleep with him, leading her to break up with him. Meanwhile, Clare arranges an interview for Steve at the C.U. job fair, but when his interviewer makes advances, Clare suspects he’s fabricating stories to cover up a bad performance. Unbeknownst to them, she and her boss overhear the woman’s flirtations. Additionally, Donna steps in for her sick father’s receptionist and, despite some criticism from Dr. Martin for engaging with patients, her attentive nature prevents a potential crisis.
