Erica gets arrested for prostitution and is handed over to Kelly and Brandon. Brandon decides to write an article about her but vows to keep her identity anonymous. Meanwhile, the assistant district attorney seeks Brandon’s source to build a case against Erica's abusive pimp. Despite Kelly's warnings, Brandon refuses to compromise Erica's safety. Erica confronts Riggs and helps a friend escape the streets. The assistant district attorney threatens Brandon with jail time if he doesn't cooperate. Jodi insists Steve must be the father of her child, and he urges her to consider adoption. Carly convinces Steve to take a paternity test. Mel assists David in filing for bankruptcy and settling his debt with Donna, although he still owes a significant sum to a loan shark. Donna spends a day on her parents’ boat with Noah, while David prepares to move out. Valerie sees Donna and Noah sharing a kiss and tells David. Meanwhile, Sands' thug assaults David.
