Punky Brewster (1984)

Episode Overview

At the start of this special five-part episode, Henry dismisses Punky’s excitement about fire trucks passing by their apartment. Soon after, he receives a shocking call revealing that his photography studio, the sole provider of his income, is ablaze. Henry and Punky hurry to the scene, where firefighters inform them that the cause appears to be a short circuit in the studio’s outdated wiring. This news devastates Henry, who has dedicated over 40 years to photography and owned the studio for 34 years. Although he had secured fire insurance in 1952, he never increased the coverage, having deemed it too costly back in the 1970s. With his financial future uncertain, Henry becomes overwhelmed with worry, ultimately collapsing from the strain of a bleeding ulcer and is rushed to Cook County Hospital.
