Roc (1991)

Episode Overview

Roc and Eleanor get ready for a trip to Washington D.C. to attend Eleanor's cousin's wedding. Just before they leave, Eleanor's mother, Margaret Carter, makes an unannounced visit to the Emersons. A social climber at heart, Margaret doesn't hold back her criticism of Roc's job and his family's lack of ambition, particularly targeting his retired railroad porter father, Andrew, and his jobless brother, Joey. To make matters worse, she has told the Carter family that Roc is a doctor and demands that he maintain this facade during the wedding festivities.
