Episode Overview

Samantha Stewart, a determined and strong-willed ferryboat captain, receives a request from her son Johnny and his new wife to join them on their journey westward to California, where they plan to catch a ship for a voyage across the Pacific. However, unbeknownst to Samantha, Johnny is hiding a crucial detail from her: their doctor has advised that she must remain in a dry climate on land for her health, or her life could be at risk.
