Desperate for money, Serenity agrees to assist Simon with a comprehensive diagnostic of River, in exchange for access to the extensive medical supplies at an Alliance hospital on the central planet of Ariel. However, as they embark on this task, River's enemies are close behind, and they find some surprising assistance from within.
