A sudden hailstorm catches the students at Washington Polytech off guard, sending them racing for shelter. Amid the chaos, Lauren trudges through the pelting hail, which soon turns to rain. She spots a teaching assistant seeking refuge in a breezeway and makes her way over. Just as Lauren reaches for the woman's cigarette, an unexpected flash ignites her, engulfing her in flames.
