Episode Overview

In the season 9 premiere, TAPS heads to Hollywood to uncover long-standing mysteries in famous haunted spots, starting at The Sowden House, notorious for the Black Dahlia murder. They meet Steve Hodell, whose father was a prime suspect in the gruesome case where Elizabeth Short was gruesomely bisected and displayed on the roadside. Steve's sister, Rita, claims to have witnessed spirits in the basement, hearing voices and the sound of dragging chains. Excitingly, Michelle Tate, a Ghost Hunters Academy runner-up, joins the team, but Jason reminds her to stay professional and not assume every noise is paranormal. During their investigation, K.J. and Britt spot a figure crossing a room, reminiscent of Elizabeth Short’s fate. Alone in the bathroom, Michelle hears footsteps, while K.J. and Britt experiment with shadow detectors and laser grids, capturing odd movements and sounds. Although some initial findings turn out to be misidentified crew activity, the team records a child's voice saying,
