Jack takes on a new case for his team, focusing on convicting Tony Hill for the murder of an FBI agent. With Tony set to be released from prison after five years, Jack enlists his cousin Sal to extract a confession from him regarding the agent's death. As the team probes deeper, they uncover evidence of another murder from 1999. Tragedy strikes when Sal is discovered dead in his hotel room from a drug overdose. Jack faces a setback when he learns the District Attorney may release Tony Hill again due to insufficient evidence for both murders.
