Episode Overview

As the national election draws near, the Ystad town square is filled with campaign posters for Kenneth Nillson, the local Labour Party candidate. He focuses his campaign on combating the fears surrounding immigration, determined to improve Skåne's image regarding racism. Meanwhile, a train arrives at the station in Gdańsk, Poland, where police discover an African man with a severely disfigured face. Since the victim was murdered in Ystad, Kurt Wallander and his team take on the case. Wallander is caught off guard when he learns that the murder weapon is linked to a friend from his childhood.
