Episode Overview

Jinzaburou fights for Tsushima Island because he believes it’s worth defending. As the Mongol army embarks on a full-scale assault against the South Gate of the fortress, time is of the essence; they must prevail before nightfall to proceed with their invasion of Japan. Nagamine dispatches Jinzaburou to bolster the east wall, where Teruhi and a small contingent are under siege. The Mongols eventually breach the South Gate, resulting in the deaths of Tatsu, Nagamine, and many defenders. Jinzaburou urges the surviving fighters to retreat. Joined by loyal soldiers and Onitakemaru, they mount a rearguard defense, sacrificing Dōen and Hitari to ensure Teruhi’s escape, but an explosion sends Jinzaburou tumbling into the sea below.
