World War II in Colour (2009)
S01E03 Britain at Bay
Episode Overview
In the summer of 1940, Britain found itself isolated, facing the might of Nazi Germany. With superior numbers, air power, and weaponry, Hitler's forces nearly overwhelmed the beleaguered British RAF. Just when defeat seemed imminent, strategic blunders by Luftwaffe chief Hermann Goering allowed Britain to catch its breath. Armed with an exceptional group of codebreakers and skilled operatives, Britain initiated a counteroffensive, collaborating closely with resistance fighters in occupied regions to reclaim hope and momentum against their formidable enemy.
