Episode Overview

John and Carol, both in their sixties, are eagerly anticipating retirement and a peaceful life together. While they tolerate each other's quirks with a touch of affectionate humor, their relationship becomes increasingly strained due to their inability to sell their house, which has lingered on the market for months. As they debate lowering the price, they remain oblivious to two other disputes unfolding on their street: a young couple, Sarah and Ryan, are fighting over finances, while taxi passenger Dave voices his frustrations about the fare to driver Neil. Tragedy strikes when Neil accidentally hits and kills Ryan right outside John and Carol's home. In an effort to be compassionate, they try to support the grieving gathering outside, but as time passes and the memorial of flowers, cards, and toys expands into their lives, even their usual humor begins to wane.
