Lexie's long-absent mother, Pamela, returns with the intention of marrying her wealthy fiancé at the estate in an extravagant ceremony. However, her hopes for a mother-daughter reunion are thwarted as Lexie firmly indicates that their troubled past cannot simply be forgotten. Caught in the crossfire, Archie tries to appease both women while Katrina faces unsettling news that the local education authority intends to shut down her school. Meanwhile, Fergal is preparing to depart Glenbogle for a job opportunity in New Zealand and invites Katrina to join him on this new adventure.
