In a desperate bid to acquire a formidable weapon to combat Amara, Dean persuades Castiel, currently under Lucifer's influence, to transport him back to 1944. There, he aims to investigate the ill-fated submarine mission that resulted in the sinking of the Hand of God. Dean hopes that uncovering this pivotal event will lead him to the power he needs to confront their formidable foe.
