Episode Overview

The angels dispatch Anna to the past with the mission of eliminating John and Mary Winchester before Sam's conception, preventing Lucifer from using him as a vessel. In a bid to thwart her, Castiel sends Sam and Dean back to 1978, where they encounter their parents. Mary, having previously met Dean during his past visit, senses his hunter instincts yet attempts to shield John from the impending truth.
