Episode Overview

A year has passed, and Dean has finally managed to escape from Purgatory, but Castiel is still missing. Dean isn’t alone in his return, though; he brings with him a mysterious ally whose motives for escaping may complicate matters further than Dean anticipated. Meanwhile, Sam grapples with the new life he built during Dean's absence, as he adjusts to the sudden reentry of his brother into his world.
