Scully assists Mulder in staging his own death so he can move undetected through the Department of Defense and uncover the truth behind the government deception regarding extraterrestrial life. At the same time, during a collaborative investigation between the FBI and DOD, Scully's efforts to expose the Conspiracy's informant are interrupted when her cancer worsens.
