When a couple's unborn baby is discovered to have unusual growths on its head and back, a demon creature secretly extracts the fetus from the sleeping mother. Dismissing the situation, Agent Spender brushes off the claims, prompting Mulder to step in and investigate. During his inquiry, Mulder uncovers a shocking truth: the father is a demon himself, desperately yearning for a child that appears normal.
