In 2006, Sam discovers that a procedure is planned to bring him out of his coma. He struggles with the belief that in order to return to the twenty-first century, he must betray his friends from 1973. This dilemma raises a pressing question for him: can he truly see them as real people, or are they merely figments of his imagination?
