Children In Need (1980)

Overview

BBC Children in Need, established in 1980, serves as the UK’s premier charity dedicated to improving the lives of disabled children and young people. Over the decades, it has successfully raised more than £600 million. A key feature is its annual telethon, airing on BBC One and BBC One HD from 7:30 PM to 2 AM each November. Pudsey Bear, the beloved mascot, represents the cause, while the late Terry Wogan famously hosted the event for many years. Unique among British telethons, it stands alongside Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, both of which benefit Comic Relief. The 2012 event took place on November 16th.
