When Aidan Grant, a staff member at a local tech firm, is discovered dead, Goren and Eames delve into the case, initially suspecting foul play linked to a botched business arrangement involving biometrics, lip-reading, the company Ubicool, and the military. Their investigation leads them to a young man named Robbie, who works in the office across from Ubicool. Goren quickly realizes that Robbie lacks full control over his actions and begins to suspect his therapist, Dr. Pynchon, of being involved. Meanwhile, Carver insists they extract the truth from Robbie by any means necessary.
