Shallow Grave (2019)
S01E05 Lost in the Wild
Episode Overview
In December 2004, Fred Moss, a 21-year-old traveler from Stansted, Essex, was reported missing, prompting a massive search by the traveler community in rural Essex. As the police faced mounting pressure to locate him, Fred seemed to have disappeared completely. Four days later, his loyal dog was discovered wandering alone and emaciated, 16 miles from Fred’s home. A call for witnesses brought forward Christopher Nudds, a local pest controller and friend of Fred’s. His description of the last sighting of Fred contradicted what Fred’s aunt had said. When Nudds later located Fred’s abandoned car, both the police and the travelers began to doubt his story. What ensued involved an abduction, a shallow grave, a shocking second murder, and one of the largest manhunts in British police history.
