Clark sees Professor Craig Lipcott, a renowned nuclear scientist, being abducted. Transforming into Superboy, he trails the kidnappers to a rooftop, where he observes them boarding an unusual spacecraft. Just as he prepares to intervene, a formidable ray strikes him, leaving him dazed and confused.
