S01E04 Grass Widows
Episode Overview
While dealing with some overdue bills at The Grand, Doreen stumbles upon one for a man who has passed away. She, along with Ken and Harry, pays a visit to the man's widow, Meg Lucie, who is struggling to manage both her garden and her finances. Ken and Harry take charge of the gardening, while Doreen helps Meg with her bills. They choose to keep quiet about their suspicions of the late husband's infidelity during his time at The Grand. Meanwhile, Harry finds himself attracted to Meg, but she plans to sell her home and leave the area. Harry hires a new bartender, Lionel Blakey, but soon realizes that his racist remarks are upsetting both Hanif and the Asian clientele. After a heated exchange, Blakey quits, sparing Harry the need to fire him.
