Episode Overview

Title: Northwest Passage to Acock's Green Plot: Ken has been tasked by the affable Irishman, Erroll McLaverty, to return a canal boat to Birmingham from the outskirts of London. He invites Doreen along for what he hopes will be a romantic getaway. However, two scruffy characters, Appleby and Laing, are trailing them. As they navigate the waters, Ken and Doreen are startled by unusual noises emanating from the cargo hold. Investigating, they uncover an escaped convict named Alan Prendergast, who has been secretly stowed away—McLaverty had enlisted Ken's help to smuggle Alan back to his father, Walter Prendergast.
