Episode Overview
Eunice vents to Mama about how miserable her life is, all while making life difficult for those around her. Just then, Buzz arrives to share the exciting news that he made the debate team after listening to a motivational tape. Eunice and Mama brush it off, but later, when she’s home and Ed asks for dinner, Eunice decides to try the tape herself. To her surprise, it starts to make a difference. The next day, Eunice shows up at Mama's with gifts and a newfound positive attitude. She surprises Vint with old childhood movie reels and gives Naomi the earrings she’s been wanting. Eunice excitedly reveals that she landed a role in a play at the Pepper Pot Playhouse, but her rehearsal schedule conflicts with a shopping trip planned with Mama. She invites Mama to join her for the play and then go to the sale afterward. Eunice is cast as “Sadie,” a small but crucial role. With Mama watching, they run through Eunice
