Reunited, the Family journeys south in search of a new place to settle down. They stumble upon a vibrant community of survivors and accept their warm invitation to stay. As Al and Sarah bask in their budding romance, Tom grows increasingly frustrated watching Anya bond with Judy, the community leader. Greg and Abby visit Greg’s old home one final time, where he finds an enigmatic postcard that leads him to an abandoned airfield, where he meets the troubled Mr. Stevens. At the same time, Sarah comes across an elderly couple succumbing to a newly mutated strain of the virus.
