Episode Overview
At just 16, Coffs Harbour trainee-lifeguard Temika Wright is continuing her exchange program at Bondi. Deano seizes the chance to evaluate her abilities by sending her out to rescue a boy and girl caught in a rip at North Bondi. Although she arrives quickly on the rescue board, Temika hesitates and makes a choice that could lead to disaster. Recognizing the need to integrate Temika into their team, the lifeguards include her in their regular fitness sessions. However, she feels uncertain when asked to participate in the prestigious annual Lifeguard Iron Man Race, a challenge typically dominated by the male lifeguards. With surf conditions predicted to exceed 3 meters, Temika is anxious about the competition. The race kicks off with a run from Bondi to Tamarama, followed by a swim around a perilous cliff to Bronte Beach, and ends with a board paddle back to Bondi.
