As Ricky, Ethel, and Fred set sail for Europe, Lucy dashes down the gangplank for a final farewell to Little Ricky, who will be staying with her mother during her trip. Just as the ship begins to pull away from the dock, Lucy races after it, desperately trying to reach her family before they drift out of sight.
